clutch and tranny?????
Yeah, I got a 91 EX with a D16a6, that still has the stock clutch and tranny...I have a z6 tranny, 2 OEM flywheels, and an ACT 6 puck clutch plate. I'm throwing on the Vtec head as well, but keeping the a6 block. Will I have any trouble using the z6 tranny with my engine or will it bolt up the same. I was also wantin' to get at least one of the flywheels machined(resurfaced) and lightened. Will a machine shop be able to do this and if so, what's a good weight to go to?? I think I've seenaftermarket ones at like 9, I was thinkin' 10&1/2 or 11pds. I'm also gonna be running a 14b at like 7 to 9 psi. Is that clutch too much or not enough?? What's the deal Would REALLY appreciate the help fellas...peace

Re:clutch and tranny?????
sooooooo...this means I can't use it?? I've been told elsewhere that I could, just wanting to make sure. Is there something I can change out or modify to where I could use it. What about the clutch plate?? Can I use it with the a6 tranny?? thanx for helping...peace

Re:clutch and tranny?????
I dont know about the clutch plate swapping. You would have to check some of the specs like splines and diameter and things like that. But the 91 EX uses a CABLE tranny and the z6 tranny uses a HYDRO mechanism. You MIGHT be able to fashion up a custom adapter or something but it wont be easy. If some1 makes the adapter it will prolly cost enough too. Check the Hasport website (www.hasport.com) to see if they make one. If not, email/call them and ask if its even possible.

well, I don't know if this is true, but I was told that if I got the master cylinder and hydro lines from a 92-95 car I could convert mine from cable to hydro....anybody else heard or tried this let me know...thanx
