Default Clutch Problem...

Hey guys, i was driving around last night and the car was running alright and then i made a turn somewhere and the car stalled on me. So i started it back up and pushed down the clutch and it makes a loud tapping noise. I know that it has to be the clutch, but do you think that its possible the shop put it in wrong, or i have a defective clutch...

The clucth is LSD motorsports 6 puck sprung kit, and the car is still n/a, anything would help, im getting the car towed today

Yep, only when i press on the pedal....

So heres the story, towed it to the shop, they said somethin like the thrust bearing went out they think....which caused some other stuff and in the end now i have "crank walk" and my engine is toast...

The only thing done to the motor was putting the LSD motorsports clutch in there, so im guessing it was too much pressure (the engine is d16y7 stock)...

So what now guys, i need a new engine, I need to keep it OBD2 for emissions, should i go B, or stick with D...i dont have much money to spend on this, but i need the car to be up and running soon...Any input helps thanks -- Jeff

wow clutches break motors now. Thats not why if your motor has problems its the dreded d16y7 bearing problem which is basically world known know. Also its mostly like your bearinf or you need to check your fluid level in your clutch resrovior

bearing problem? this is common with d16y7?, That could be what it was, I was a little in shock when he told me that the engine was blown...The car still starts in neutral, just makes a nasty noise at first with the clutch pressed in and then sounds pretty much fine....but whenever you even tap on the clutch it just starts with the nasty noise...

Its a pretty well-known shop in my area (granted they dont deal with civics too often) www.alteredatmosphere.com
So my engine still might be good? I am a noob at this stuff so if you know what i should ask them, that would be nice..Theres still hope for boost ... Thanks guys -- Jeff

Either they are dumb or trying to rip you off. the PP that LSD sells in no ------- way would put out enough pressure to cause crank walk. There`s tons of ppl use exterm pressure plate from ACT and all they blew (rarly) is the differential.
there`s a few important thing you did not mentioned.
1) does the car RUN FINE if you put it in gear and drive anyway?
2) does it slip if you drive it?
3) does it make grinding noise if you drive it like that?

if you have acess to the car(tow it home ASAP or just drive it home anyway), rip open the rubber boot covering the shift fork and make sure the fork isn`t damaged. Jack up the car, take off the flywheel cover and see if theres any broken parts. I would think it is possible that the little hub spring came loose/off. drain motor oil make sure there are no metal flake/powder (indicating fucked up bearing)
have someone who knows more take a look at it.
Last but not least, if you can not/don`t know how to work on it DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING AND LEAVE IT STOCK

Ive been reading the sites for a while and know a good amount about the turbo stuff, just dont know much about clutches... To answer the questions....

Does the car run fine?...
-- I start the car and its in neutral, if i even tap on the clutch it has a LOUD noise and just gets worse if i push the clutch further down, So i have yet to actually try and get it in gear and drive it...

I really didnt want to screw it up even more by trying to drive it, it feel like when i push on the clutch its rubbing against something thats moving, so it hits it very quickly causing a loud cracking noise...Im gonna check into the stuff that you guys said...ill post later
