Default Check engine light

Guys I have a 93 hatchback with a 94 LS motor, and the check engine light just came on, what do I do first?
I've been drivin' this car for about 2yrs now, and this is the first time it ever came on....

Dude dont drive it no more or your gonna die. You need to find out what code its giving and we can go from there.

There is a plug on the passenger side with a green cap I believe. Jump that out a paper clip and then turn the ignition to ON, dont start it. The Check engine light will blink. The first long blink or bliknks will be the first number, the short blinks are the second. 1 long blink and 3 short blink will be 13...get it? Report back after you have the code.

so for taking so long, I think I found the problems, #1 my speed sensor is dead, #2 my master cylinder res... was nearly bone dry... do you guys think I should do a further search??

yeah you should do a further search. what code was your car throwing? you need to learn how to pull codes. then you will know EXACTLY why your check engine light is on. follow the instructions that the others gave you, and you will have your code.
