Default check engine light

i have a 94 civic ex with a p06 ecu chipped to vtec(brother-in-law sold my p2 and i noticed everytime i drive pass 5600-6000 the check engine light goes on. what could be the problem?

my brother in law said the vetc is set to around 5600. could it be the vtec not working at all?

in the pass side foot well under the carpet there is a service connector. Jump that and count the flashes on the dash.

too much trouble for you to read the damn service manual?

then download one for free, we have the links up there.

if you don't want to do the research work, then take it to a mechanic and get charged for him to do it
