Default Check engine light

Hey guys my friend has a '96 civic ex. We took the stock intake off and put cold air on. But when we put the stock back on the check engine light came on and still is on. We took the positive battery cable off and that didnt do anything. So now im trying to figure out how to get the light to turn off. And I pluged everything in that I unpluged at the beggining. If you know how to get the light to turn off, let me know. Thanks

Matt

was there a bung for the iat on the new intake? maybe it is not sealed good and is leaking. to reset your ecu, take out the backup fuse (i think, i usually take that one out and the radio fuse cause i'm not 100% which one it is, so if all else fails, take them both out ) do you know how to check your codes to see which cel it is? if so, do that, it would help us a lot!

dont worry 40,000 to 50,000 miles and the check engine light bulb will just burn out. did it on my 96.

Sorry, can't do the jumper wire on an OBD2 car. Do what he said, take it to the parts store...they can usually plug in and pull codes for you...for free (if they want money, go somewhere else)
