Default CEL and sputtering???

I have a 90 civic hatch DX the motor has 106000 on it and the past few months the CEL has been comming on and during excelleration the engine sputters almost like a misfire but not as bad. The code is the O2 sensor so i replaced it and it still came on with the same code. I took it to my mechanic and he said the same thing and put another new O2 sensor in. CEL still comes on. I went back to the mechanic and he said I may need to get a OEM O2 sensor or the ECU may be bad. I had the timmig belt water pump distributor Throttle body replaced also at some point in time. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what could be causing this.

I have a ls vtec and im having the same problems. ill b cruising and my car will start sputtering. Im thinking its my o2 sensor. I think wat happend was my knock sensor went bad and that might have fouled out my o2 sensor. When i had a perfect o2 my car ran perfect. u can try gettin a new o2. also get a fuel ratio gauge so u know how ur fuel is runnin cuz that could b another big problem u might b runnin too rich or lean. Im still tryin to figure out whats wrong with my car.

It's possible the fuel pressure regulator is acting up, or you are having a wiring problem. I think its C16 (white wire?) make sure that wire has good resistance between the ECU and Oxy Sensor connector.

If so, maybe your just getting some shitty o2 sensors.
