cbr929rr itbs for ZC
Okay guys, I'm new here so bare with me.
I’ve done a lot of searching on individual throttle body setups on Honda’s (maybe not enough). I have a OBD-0 DOHC ZC with PM7 ECU that I am slowly building up with 11.1:1 CR N/A. I keep reading and hearing about guys using some type of piggy back ECU setup for fuel management. One of the biggest names I’ve found is Crome and Megasquirt…..it seams people have good luck with these. I have to tell the truth I have no idea on how Crome works with the stock ECU. The reason for the itb’s is that I would like to have a good throttle response for running around cones. I’m not looking for huge gains with the setup, just a nice idle and strong power curve through the rpm range. What do you guy’s think is the best fuel management setup for the money without going full stand alone? I’m planning on using cbr929rr bodies that are 38mm each and I want to stick with OBD-0. The pictures show the setup I will be using minus the polished runners and flange. Thanks, Dan http://www.thezcr.com/forums/attachm...8&d=1135499369 http://www.thezcr.com/forums/attachm...9&d=1135499369 |

megasquirt is great if you got somebody to tune/build it for you...
but turbo edit is proly your best choice |

Re: cbr929rr itbs for ZC
what manifold do you have the itb's attached to?
and did they line up without modification? and lastly are the runners on that intake manifold the same width apart all the way down? let me know, thanks |

This is his itbs setup, http://www2.arnes.si/~mjereb2/itb5.JPG http://www2.arnes.si/~mjereb2/mini-IMG_3129.JPG http://www2.arnes.si/~mjereb2/mini-IMG_3132.JPG http://www2.arnes.si/~mjereb2/mini-IMG_3133.JPG |
Re: cbr929rr itbs for ZC
I just read some more about his setup and it turns out he was working on converting over to OBD-1 instead of OBD-0 so that the crome system could be used to tune with just the TPS and not both TPS and MAP.
I wrote the guy an email and maybe he can help me out even further. Thanks guys ;D |
Re: cbr929rr itbs for ZC
if you want it to run clean and be able to be tuned properly crome is the only way.

Re: cbr929rr itbs for ZC
I dont know if ITB's would honestly be the best bet for running around cones. You loose allot of low end velocity and you'll kill allot of torque for that high rpm power.

Plus the sound is brutal, just hear this, http://www.twminduction.com/ThrottleBody/twm_video.wmv From what I found I might as well just convert to OBD-1 to tune off of the TPS accurately with Crome. Thanks guys. |
