firing order takes 2 seconds to look at, my dumbass did a hg once and mixed up the wires for 2 and 3 cylinders, so the bitch was running on 2 cylinders! let me tell you what kinda vibration that had. So make sure it's 1342 with 1 being on the back (bottom i think) of the dizz and remember when you're looking at the dizzy, it goes clockwise.

Otherwise the timing could be retarded if it wants to go, line her up at TDC, and pop off the upper cover and see where its at

easy enough to check. pull the valve cover and number one cylinder's spark plug. stick a long ass extension down the cyl and let it sit on the piston. now turn the motor over BY HAND and stop when it gets to the top of its stroke. now look at the timing marks. they will either be right, or 180* out (cause the cams run at 2:1 with the crank) if it looks to be 180* out spin the motor over one more time and check the marks.if they arent right this time then you effed up and are luck you didnt bend some valves. (btw there are holes on the cam that will line up with a hole in the cam journal closest to the cam sprocket. get them lined up and hold them with a 5mm drift or punch, or do like i did, find the biggest nail that will fit in there.
hope that helped you out, and good luck.

sounds like more work than loosening the valve cover bolts, removing the 2 timing cover bolts, and looking at the cam and the timing mark on the crank pulley

kinda hard to see the timing mark on the crank with the wheel and the crank pulley in the way. doing that way eliminates having to take off the pulley and the lower timing cover.
