ok here it go. i will drive in first car fine. but all the other gears the car stalls when it wants to. its like i hit the revlimiter and the car shuts down. its wierd because it does it sometimes and only does it in 2nd - 4th not first or fifth. any guesses?

97 civic dx and no check engine light

 

loose wires? ground? bad alternator? who knows. do a couple checks to try and corner the problem. wide open question like that will result in no answers.

 

did all thos. today the speedo stoped working for a bit but no motor light.

 

does the motor actually stall out (turn off) or just hit a rev-limiter type deal.

 

Its just like u hit a rev-limiter type deal.
but it does when ever. only between 2500-5500

 

i would go ahead and clean all the grounding spots.. get the charging system check (usually free at certain places).

could be a tps problem,.. man this could be a hundred things!

check vac lines (especially to the MAP sensor).
