yeah kinda funny you guys are talking about spinning bearings at 7200, guess i gotta consider myself lucky that my cousin overspun my motor to 9161 (vafc confirmed), and i drove it for over 20,000 miles afterwards without a problem

 

I didn't know you could get power past 8500 on a D16. A Y8 needs a bit of headwork to make power past 8K, even with Crower Stage 3 cam and pimp *** $$$$ Bisimoto/SMSP header.

Regardless, at 7800 does the car break up or does it "bounce" like a normal revlimit? If it breaks up, ditch the Iridium plugs and run regular electrode NGKs (stock GSR plugs, or BRK7E-11/NGK Stock # 1283 if you need colder) gapped to 0.030". If it bounces like a revlimit, ditch the Iridium plugs and run regular electrode NGKs (stock GSR plugs, or BRK7E-11/NGK Stock # 1283 if you need colder) gapped to 0.030", check the coolant temp sensor to make sure it is functional/submerged in coolant aka coolant is full/coolant is getting hot enough aka block off part of the airflow across the radiator with cardboard if coolant temps are low, and lastly ditch the eBay chip and get something from somebody you can trust to burn you something that works (Cray91, xenocron, most any OG HMTer or pgmfi.org guy, avoid mtber aka phearable.net that dude is a tard).

i reved my d16y7 with a stock 95 ex head.. to 8k 8.2 in first and second gear and never spun a bearing just melted a piston cuz my afr was too lean....(yes it was a turbo) after the motor blew up.. i took it a part and the #1 and 5 main bearings had a deep wear spot on the outer ends ends i guess it was about to do it and taht was only a mounth of rape like that... i gess its becaust the obd2 motors have shitty oil pumps like some one said in a nouter post..

 

you ------- pansy *** lickers, sure my D15B7 would rev to 9.5K rpms, but best power was using 7k shift points.

Yea 8500 sounds alful high on a d16. Why do you want to rev so high? Any way if do get it to rev that high i think youll be doin more harm than good. hell im only reving to 6200 on my zc vtAK but im still using the p06 unchipped (ummhumm JD)

I bounce the Iridium plugs to 8600 on my b16 with no breakup...is there something about them I should no about? Maybe the MSD6aln and Blaster SS coil have something to do with it, I didn't feel like taking them off from my last boost build. :P
