can you use ABS axles in B-series swap?

can you use ABS axles in B-series swap?
on most sites it says that you need 90-93 non-ABS teg axles. but arent the ABS axles the same, except the little ABS 'ring' 
does that thing interfer with something? or is there a bigger diff im missing
