Can Someone Clear This Swap Up For Me...

I'm tired of my turbo d and i'm planning on just getting a b16 or b18b. I had a couple of questions because after doing some searching, i am reading all different answers. This swap will be going into my 1997 Civic EX Coupe

1. Will the b16a1 and b16a2 directly bolt into the car with no modifications?

2. Will the b18b a direct bolt on to my car?

Any other help would be great since this is a DIY project for myself and it's my frist time swaping motors.

b16a1 is 1st gen b16 obd0 I think. You don't want that.

b18b will fit, but you need a p75 obd2a ecu. You'll also need to do some rewiring and use the civic harness with a couple plugs from the integra harness. You need a rear motor mount and the part of the mount that bolts to the block on the drivers side of the motor and a power steering pump all from a 99-00 Si.

b16a2 bolts right in i beleave except minor wiring touch ups. ie. Vtec wiring and ecu also you need the axles from a 99-00 si

he has an ex, he already has wiring for the vtec, and i doesn't bolt right in, you need the mounts rear and driver side mount from an si like stan said ;)

hmmm...doesn't seem too bad. Everyone's been saying it bolts right in since i got a coupe and the b16a2 came out of a coupe. hmm...i guess i'll lean towards the b16a2 over the b18b for convenience

b18 is faster though. If you want power,a little extra money and time go a long way. Just a thought. My friends 4 door runs a 14.2 in the quarter with a b18 turbo. Thats fast as ---- for a four door. Just saying if you want to go fast go with the torque.

really? I know it has more torque than the B16 but am not sure about the B18 being faster than the B16. B18 more torque. B16 more hp.

But if you plan to boost... I'd get the B18... B16's high compression is a pain in the ass.

i'm planning to just do the basic bolt ons. My turbo d was fun enough, but i just want to get something reliable and not looking to turbo again. So would the b16 be better for na or the b18b?
