CRX304 that is true for every .012" you take off the head you can advance the cam gear 1 degree

why would you want to retard your base timing just b/c you're boosted? you don't need timing retard until you're under boost.

i adjusted the cam gear because of this problem. i have a vx belt to install now.

i seen an improvement of about 5whp through out the power band, when I turned my girlfriend's car. currentlly running a sohc d16y8 with i/h/e cam gear, crank pulley. Making 120 whp and 108 wtq.

I installed one when i changed my timing belt and I did notice some difference with the butt dyno when I was adjusting it...I figured the more adjustability the better for tuning!?!? But yea there is only so much room to adjust before you start having negative effects since you are adjusting intake and exhaust valves at the same time...Matt
