im buying dohc zc head that is a port and polished gasket matched. i was wondering if i should gasket match my intake manifold as well, or should i leave it as is?

the manifold is already bored out to 60mm with a bigger TB, head is p&p (gasket matched), delta turbo cams, turbo, etc.

could i do this myself, or should i send it out? anyone have any pictures of an already done up intake manifold??

 

I'd definatly match the gasket up to the intake manifold. It's kind of a pain in the ***, but its worth it. You want all your manifolds to be port matched, as well as your gaskets. Port matching only takes about a hour to do and can be done with a dremel/sanding bits. or Carbide bits and a die grinder.

 

someone told me to leave a small lip on the intake manifold for anti-reversion properties...what in the hell is that?

anyways, how far should i try and go up into the manifold? i guess it'll be ok as long as i make a nice "funnel like" grind..

 

thats for the exhaust mani. basically it helps keep the exhaust from flowing back into the head, at least thats what ive heard, someone feel free to correct this if need be. the intake side you can have straight through with no obstacles. on the intake side port matching is what you want.

 

i just looked on endynes site, and they said that i should have a small lip in my intake manifold..

so the exhaust should have one? should i have the lip on the head or the manifold?...probably the head
