Building D15b2

Picked up a 92 Civic dx the other day, in running condition. It has the usual rust around the read fenders but that doesnt bother me the slightest. Okay so it comes with a d15b2 which is obviously not the best motor for boosting applications because of the shitty rods. I'm just wondering what I can do with it instead of getting new rods and pistons but still be able to run about 10 psi with a T3 turbo.

Things I've thought about:
-Block Posting
-Porting the head
-Uberdata or Crome for management
-dsm 450's

I know these don't take care of the rod problem, but because of my extremely low budget, being 16 and having to use my friends garage I'm wondering what exactly I can do to ready this little piece of ---- for the boost cause I cant afford for it to blow.

i dont know how much hp that motor can take in mostly stock form before it dies but im sure numbers are floating around somewhere. if the numbers are not as high as you want, then look into a swap and then turbo that later on

I'm looking for around 180-200 hp, but I want it to last for atleast a year. If this is accomplishable on stock rods will someone help me out here?

I was told that it was a d15b2 I'm not 100% sure on it because I havent checked the block to see it. But I know it is a 1.5L

If it's the stock motor it's a D15b7. The biggest difference between the b2 and the b7 is the fuel injection. b2 has the shitty dual point and b7 has the real deal multiport.

Re: Building D15b2

Guess it would be a b7 than. Anyways anyone know how to get around 180-200hp out of this thing for a deacent amount of time with stock internals? Or do I need to just keep dreaming?

Re: Building D15b2

I had a b7 and it was fast as ----, roughly 200 whp.

HF manifold
WeirRacing adapter plate
T3 .48/.60
JRC 6" FMIC
2.5" charge piping and downpipe
DSM 450cc injectors
Uberdata
tuned by myself with an LM-1

Good luck, feel free to ask me any more questions.

Thanks a lot jago, how long did this set up last for you? and how much money did it run you? also, no clutch? guessing the dx tranny holds up to 200hp?

Lasted a couple months, stock clutch held fine. DX tranny worked great too, although an EX one woulda been better

Don't do it. Pour the block with epoxy instead, if you have to do anything short of big spender sleeves.

Slow yea, faggot speak for urself.

Anyways pour the block with epoxy, wouldnt this starve the ---- outta my motor? guessing there would be a lot of oil holes in the epoxy, what kind of epoxy do you use? no chance of it chipping off and getting into the oil? Sorry for all these questions but the car has to last atleast a year or so when I can afford to swap in another motor.
