Broken valve spring
I have a broken valve spring, and I was wondering what is the best way to change the spring. I know im going to have to change the valve and the guide and get the chamber fixed where the valve was hitting. i was wondering what i might run into when takeing my head off my car since ive never done this before. like if i should just go ahead and buy new gaskets and otherthings for the head while im at it.

Re:Broken valve spring
well if your taking the head off you want to get a new head gasket, and probly new head bolts, also a new valve cover gasket if its in bad shape. and if you got the money might as well throw some goodies in there, cams and what not, ---- whatever you want
i have personly never delt with springs before, but im sure someone on hear will give you some tips thats my .02 cents |
Re:Broken valve spring
I've handled a couple broken OHV springs in my day.. valve float is bad.
What motor are you talking about? You're going to need a head gasket to start with.. consider valve cover, intake, exhaust gaskets and timing belt while you are at it. |
