Default broken valve cover bolts in the head

hey, I know I can't be the only one thats had these pieces of ---- break off...
I can't seem to reach my EZ out drill bit into where the top valve cover bolts fit to drill it out...
Could anyone give me some advise on what to do? I called a machine shop but they require the whole head to be pulled from the motor - well that would leave me without a car lol

I read somewhere.. you can drill a small hole in the centre of the bolt, keep away from the threads. then insert a screw extractor and turn it out.

all you have to do is take the valve cover off and you should be able to take that peice off that the valve cover bolt goes into. depending on which one it should be a 10 or 12mm and just undo and have them redrill it out. Its the cam hold down peice that it screws into. Honda wouldn't have been dumb enough to have the valve cover bolts go right into the head.

that happened to me yesterday, mine broke off at the valve cover washer, which prolly what happened to yours, if so, all you have to do is remove your valve cover, and use a 12mm deepwell socket.it should cost you about 40cents to replace the stud. quick fix is to pack silicone in the hole until you replace it, too long post, or did it help?

do what crx88si said. thats what i had to do when i busted on off. it was a huge pain in the ***. just get the smallest bit you can find and drill a tiny hole out in the mid, and keep stepping up in bit size until you get a fairly decent sized hole drilled out in the center of the bit (just make sure it's CENTERED) and then use the easy out.

why would he do that if he only broke the upper part that hold the valve cover off? these studs have two parts the lower part is 12mm, and the upper is 10mm, for center ones, the ones on the outside are 10mm, unless you have a sohc, I'm wrong, I thought u have b16
