Re: broke the timing belt on my accord
i'd just pull the head. the timing belt and valve cover is already off, just unbolt the ex mani and the head bolts.

Re: broke the timing belt on my accord
Man, doesn't anybody speak english anymore? So let me get this straight...you broke your timing belt while you were driving? Or your grampa broke it? If the car was running and the belt broke, your valves in the head are fucked.

OMG thats not how you do it. Valves dont literally look bent. You have to pull the head. Pour a liquid into the ports. If the cahmber is good no bent valves liquid will remain in the port. If liquid comes out there is your bent valve. Easy and it works. I promise you there are atleast 2 bent in there but hey lookin works too ::) |
Re: broke the timing belt on my accord
it reallt depends on what type of load was on the motor and what RPMS you were at, I've had a belt snap and had 6 bent valve, but just the other day my tensionator loosened up and the belt poped off the exhaust cam and i was at idle and nothing happend. i head metal on metal contact but no damage was done, but then again i killed the motor 2 seconds after it happend.
