Re: brake question???

well good news guys..the drum came off with just a few slams with the sledge and no i didnt hit my studs :6.....anyway now im on to the E-brake...i have the drums all taken apart ready to install new hardware, shoes , drums and new susp. bushings ...but i need to take the E-brake off and its a little rusty inside ...their is some type of little clip on the inside of the drum keeping the cable inside the drum that needs to come off but the rust is making it a bitch...could it be cut off?..and on the back of the drum will the cable just slide out of the back once the clip comes off or maybe it looks like its kinda screwed on their ???

btw the shop manual page doesnt work

Re: brake question???

theres usually a clip on the pin that hold the e-brake cable, similar to a door lock clip. also could be a c-clip

im my experiences, they use something like a c-clip but you crimp it, or a c-clip or that weird horseshoe clamp

and jago, go fist yourself if this isn't how it goes :-* :-*

How did you ---- that up? Of all the stubborn drums I've ever had to remove, I've never broken anything. I chipped a fin ONCE on my old Celica, but never broken anything. I used heavy sledges and just wailed on the sides until I saw it budge. Then I just pried it off.
