I plan to use a dsm bov on my b16 turbo setup, and I plan to use my cold air intake as part of the intercooler piping, can I weld a steel flange to aluminum? or should I make a flange out of aluminum?

 

dont you need like a tig welder to do that...that ---- would get expensive.... just buy 2.5in piping and have a muffler shop bend you the pipes... im sure it wouldnt be more than 75$ for some dope *** pipes with the flange welded to it

 

I'm stationed in Germany and these people don't know sh+t about performance mods, if it dont come with the car, they dont think its possible. on the other hand I'm using mandrel bent tubes for the lower pipes, the bov will be out of sight, but I want to show it off,does it matter where in the ic pipes it goes, does it have to be away from heat?

 

Steel to aluminum? not sure how that will work, I dont think its a normal practice in welding, even with a tig welder.

I'm in the netherlands so we are neighbours. it's a half our drive for me to get to germany.
Just go to the plumbing store, there you can get bendral bend pipes and straight pipes really cheap. like 1,19 euro for each peace of mendral bend pipe like 3 inch long 45 degree bends and the pipes are like 13 euro's per meter well here where I buy it at least. For my charge pipes I'm using 2 inch pipes. and they're pretty thick.
I'm making my manifold fomr 1 3/4 inch mendrel bends from the plumbing store pipes there really thick.
There are a lot of tuning ---- in germany you have to look around hard enough.
They even sell products from the states there, but at a price .
