battery fuse keeps popping ::FIXXED::
ok, this weekend i picked up a 97 civic coupe for $500 because the kid said the tranny lost 2nd, 4th, and 5th gear and it has an electrical problem where everytime he hooks up th ebattery it pops the battery fuse. i have searched and people say make sure all the engine grounds are good and tight and check the alt power wire so make sure it's tight and not grounding. does anybody have any other things i should check?
thanks.
thanks.

Re: battery fuse keeps popping
i looked around the grounds to see if they were connected but haven't checked the alt yet since i'm at work. but i will check that when i get home and clean the grounding points to see if that helps. i did notice that the positive terminal is pretty corroded so i will clean those up as well and pick up soem extra 80A fuses just in case i don't get it right the first time.

Re: battery fuse keeps popping
i was gonna do it when i got home but its way to dark and cold to be doing that ----. but i did find my old battery cable form my hatch i just sold so i am gonna swap that out and check all grounds and alt. then i'll replace the fuse and see what happens. when i was looking at the alt the other day i noticed that the green plug wasn't hooked up, think that would cause anythign or is that just so th eecu knows whats going on with the alternator?
