Balancing a Motor what do you guys think

i am in the process of building a b18a block
with eagle rods, srp pistons and a 8lbs flywheel

and i was wondering what you guys think, should i get it balanced or not?

i plan to rev to 7500 at most maybe 8000 down the road, i just want to do it right the first time
i have the head to support the motor

thanks

Balancing a motor is always best. Worth the extra money.

Most guys on here dont ballance their ----, if youre not in professional racing and getting up to the 8-9-10K RPM mark then I dont think its neccesary, It is a good idea and would do good for the engine but what is the point if you could put that money somewhere else.

with the 8lb flywheel, you definitely need to get it balanced. Any off imbalance in the engine can be felt more with a light flywheel.
Speaking from experience....

If you are putting money in the rods and pistons.... got the extra inch to get the thing balanced. It does make a noticeable difference. The engines that are balanced tend to run cooler, have quicker throttle response... and most importantly last LONGER.

Would you spend 2k on racing rims and tires, and NOT balance them? They might not vibrate too much, until you get over 60mph... but the tires will wear sooner.

dew it....

I just micro polish the crank and good to go, but if you can afford it do it.

i did it, unbalanced parts dont like to spin to well. just think about what happenes when a turbo is unbalanced and breaks
