the 125 is definatley money i would spend somewhere else, but then again i'm poor
also, hopefully the flame fest is over and back to the thread. i've never been around a dyno, but i've seen graphs before. my question is why do you want to spin it to 10k when (and this is the part i'm guessing on) the peak horsepower will be at an rpm lower than that? autocross or a funky cam grind?

you're that closer to max hp when you shift.

In a way yes that's what you want, if you haven't custom geared the trans to the motor. I've always been told you want to shift right after peak horsepower and shift into peak torque on the next gear. Then again it was VW bug guys that have told me this but there are so many customizable gearsets and ---- for bugs, so I dunno. Can Bone or someone enlighten me and the rest of HMT on this topic? It just might save this thread from being a worthless piece of ----.

I thought you decided when to shift so you would maximize the 'area under the horse power curve' since the HP curve is somewhat parabolic. I.E. If peak horsepower for a given setup is at 6500, you want to shift at a point, say around 7500 so that rpms drop to around 5500, thus getting the most hp outta that setup. This is just an example to try and show my point, which probably is wrong anyway.
