Default b20s and boost!

Thinking of ditching the turbo d and going b20b turbo.

My friends are all trying to tell me it would be stupid to boost it stock?? Something about those engines makes them shitty as ---- to boost stock?? Is this true?? The plan is to go b20vtec but leaving it stock for now with maybe 10psi. Why would these engines be ---- to boost unless built?? Or are they talking out there ***??

My friend is offering a complete one other then tranny for 400$ firgured it was a good deal.

weak sleeves for some reason and they only hold like 10psi on a well sized snail because of the sleeves

Depends on the year of the block. Later years had the crappy sleaves if I remember right. Someone correct me if I'm wrong though.

B20z's were the first generation of crv blocks...that's why. They still had the same sleeve process as b18's and b16's. Unfortunately they're getting hard as hell to find these days. Later b20's have the weak sleeves...check JD's thread above in this section, he gives the breakdown on the newer b20 sleeve designs and their downfalls.
