b20b ?
are ls rods the same as b20?
How thick are the cylinder wall? (I heard they were thin walled but the one I just picked up are pretty thick) can I run gsr water pump? (is this necessary if goin vtec) thats about all right now |
Re: b20b ?
Same rods just a bigger bore of 84mm vs 81mm of B18A/B and the sleeves are a little thinner of less supported either way they are weaker. The GSR pump you can use it isnt required. You will need a GSR timing belt to go with the pump if you go that way.

Re: b20b ?
Its the design of the b20 that makes it weak under high compression or boost.

Re: b20b ?
What do you think? Pour the block near solid with epoxy and say ---- it, or go B18A/B bottom end?
I think both routes have their merits, but the fact that B18 success stories are a dime a dozen assuages the conscience. |
Re: b20b ?
I had an Idea of making a brace about 1/2" around the sleeves then solid fillin the gap. then fill from the from the pump up. what do you think I wonder if it would help?

Re: b20b ?
Dude just fill the whole damn b20 block with devcon and use an electric water pump! :S

Re: b20b ?
interesting idea but it woundn't cool at all straight drag only block run for no more that 1min at a time
|
Re: b20b ?
fill to the bottom of the pump, throw the salt in, put it in for another 1/2 inch and drill it for the fluid to run through it
