What all is involved in this? Putting the B20 head on a B18a bottom end. Is it a basic swap or somewhat extensive? Anybody know? I think this might be my new project.

whats the power difference with a b20 head on a b18 block cause i would do that if its simple as hell and doesnt have problems like other hybrid motors like the ls/vtec....i dont know...id go vtec but every shop wants like 500 to 800 just for the head....bitchs...

putting the b20 head on b18 block, doesn't raise compression like the ls/vtec. therefor won't make as much of a power gain. but... the intake cam on a b20 head is bigger than a b18 intake cam, the intake ports are A LOT bigger on the head, and the intake manifold (which i put on too) is a lot bigger also.

the bigger ports couldn't hurt , but its mostly top end

damn would have liked to see what actual gains are made. I bet if you had a turbo car the larger ports would be really good to have.

well i dunno, this mornin i raced a v6 gt eclipse and beat him pretty handly. i pulled into the other lane cause i thought he would pass me but i kept pulling on him

yeah. The b18b and b20z have the Exact Same Cams (i think b18a is same but not sure). The b20b intake cam has less lift than the b18b/b20z, so u will be loosing power. I don't see why you would want to swap a b20 head on a b18 block, as they are the same (actually slower bcause of cam). The only reason I would swap is if I had a blown head, but with all this LS Vtec-ing, b18 heads are plenitful and cheap
