damn rednecks are dumb as ---- when it comes to stuff like that. i always call the local reneck junkyards to ask for wrecked integras, del sols, si's, etc, cause they'll sell a good engine for like 500 bucks.

what is the B17A worth (just the motor)?, i looked on ebay, nippon motors, and total-boost.com, and they do not carry it.

that's because it's very rare, it was only in the us in the 92-93 gsr's, i'm not sure about in japan, but either way, it wasn't produced very long for some reason, i guess they figured they could make just as much power with the b16 so it was pointless to produce two almost identical engines at the same time. i would say for just the longblock, you could prolly get around 600 for it, but if it was a complete swap, you could prolly get around 1k.

it was accually a local 'race' shop (or as i would call it 'rice shop')...

the B17A ONLY came in the USDM GSR 92 and 93....

i paid less than half that amount for mine...of course mine needs about 4 exhaust valves (there not bent...)

ya I agree. besides.. the only "special" piece of the whole motor is the crank and those hardly get broken when you break a OEM bseries (rods/pistons).

earlier in the post i was told not to turbo it. but i also wouldnt see why not. how much boost, daily driver, would be a good amount to run. and do i still look for a t25 or do i go with a bigger turbo.

My friend has a 92 gsr, and when he blew the motor (rod shot through the block), he paid almost $3,000 for another B17...and he thought that was a good price. Those are VERY rare motors...if i were u, i'd put it up on egay or somethin, then get an ls and do a ls-vtec. Lower the CR in the ls-vtec and throw a turbo on it then. As far as boostin the B17, i wouldn't just cause if u break anything, parts are at least 3 times more expensive, and not as plentiful.

the B17 is a B16 with a different crank...we already went threw this. so why is ---- more expensive? you ------ throw a rod just get another block weather it be a B16 B18 B20....whatever. i have a B17A if it dies no big deal the B18 will go back in, or it will get sleeved (if it aint bad).

so in summary dont go out and buy a B17, its not worth it, but if it lands in your lap cool.

also: a T25 is too small for anything but a ATV or something. its too small for the DSM they came off of and every other car above 1.3L....

They make tons of parts for the B17, inlinefour.com has everything for those that it does for all other B motors. I think it would be cool to turbo such a rare motor, and as I showed you, there definitely are parts for it.
