b17 crack in b18 ????

can you put the b17 crank in a b18 to give it a better rod stroke ratio, or would it be better to put it in a b16 or something. i just got one and heard a few rumors and was wondering if any were true ???

yeah i can, not sure if you can though ::) it will give you a better RS ratio, but sure if its better than the B16 though...hell you can put a B16A or B16B crank in a B18 block and get an EVEN BETTER RS ratio....

in closing: you need custom (as in NOT off the shelf rods) and it wont be worth your time/money/effort...just build a B16A or build a B18...either way you can make more power than you will need...

Yes you can do it but a better route would be to get custom pistons with the correct compression height. Is it worth you while? It depends on what you are trying to do I guess.

If it were me:
B18C rods 137.92 mm. (This a calculated # as I don't remember what it is.)
B17 crank 81.40 mm.
B18 deck height 211.50 mm.

211.5-((81.4/2)+137.92)=Compression Height=32.88 mm. or 1.294" I think tha stock compression height is 30.00 mm. or 1.181" for all B series.

Probably round down to 32.8 mm. to help create some deck clearance.

R/S sratio would be 1.69:1.

thats a lot of work for a "good" rod/stroke...

ill simplify it for everyone:

1.84 Rod/stroke ratio, 100% daily drivable, Honda reliablity hell you even get some awesome gear ratios and a LSD tranny :y
