b16b pistons on b18a rods in b18a block

alright. motor finally took a ------ ---- in my da today so i got a spare block and thinking on a high compression ls build. im hearing mixed thoughts on me using b16b pct pistons on my stock rods... here are the things that i have heard...

-need to shave 1mm of the sides of the small end of the rods to fit the pistons

-b18a rods will fit the pct pistons without modifications...

i dont ------ know what the hell to believe. just wondering if anyone has first hand expreience with this. LMK

Thanks

Jay

you need to modify either the rods or the pistons... rod wont fit into the piston otherwise...

same thing has to happen any time you put a piston from a P72 block (B16B/B18C1/B18C5 etc) into a PR3/PR4 block (B16A/B18A/B18B etc) :y

those pistons will put you at too high of a CR...dont do it... use PR3s...

------- it just buy the right sized pm7 (zc) pistons. there higher comp but not extremely high. i dont know about fitting them on the rods so i wont throw my 2¢ in there. and why would you shave a rod the fit the block? just notch the block.... unless im not understanding you correctly.

b16b pistons wont fit on b18a rods without shaving
b16b not equal b16a

dont mind the 6mm difference in bore it'll seal nicely

Just get oversized rings and you're golden. The extra 6 mm allows for mega expansion.

your an idiot... read what i wrote again... :1

a B16B uses a P72 block. its a de-stroked B18C-R... there for the pistons dont fit without mods...
