Re:B16a2 not starting
test battery, not enough juice to get the spark hot enough?
so you tried a 3rd set of plugs/wires and still didnt work. did u align the rotor properly?
set engine at #1 TDC for compression stroke and align the rotor at #1 ?

bran new battery
2 set of plug wires. the orignal ones and a set of new ones from honda. both the same ting
battery it totally charged and dropping the approiate 13 V
Set the entire engine to TDC and reset the rotor and made sure the dizzy wasent damaged nor the yoak at hte end of the intake cam. everything is perfect as itcan be other than no spark. its pissing me off.

Re:B16a2 not starting
I had a similar problem when we swapped a B18 into a civic. Initially we had zero or sporadic spark. We even tried different distributors. Sam results. Finally we checked the codes while trying one distributor which came from a running car and the codes indicated one of the sensors in the distributor was bad. I don't know why it was bad in the civic when it ran in the other car. We tried one more distributor (Type R) and still would not run but had hot spark. On a hunch I rotated the spark plug wires 180 degrees on the distributor and it fired up like it should. I then rotated the drive on the distributor and set the plug wires correctly. No problems since. That was two months back. It took a week to work it out. Engine was a B18C1 OBDII, rewired for OBDI.

Onyx, youu using the stock coil, or an external one? Make sure the connection between the coil, and the cap is undisturbed, I had a similiar prob once, and it turned out that I lost the spring that goes from the coil to the cap.

Re:B16a2 not starting
The main relay wouldent let it spark and its sparking at the plug ATM but its being a bitch and still wont start. The coil is a new coil and completely stock. Im thinking its teh lower dizzy housing becsoeu when i spin it i can hear the main bering spin. it prety bad and the poor sensors at the bottom of the dizzy are scroched. Im going toget a timing light and see if the spark is even sparking in the correct order or not even though the timing on the motor is perfect and the timing on the dizzy is too. perhapse weak spark?
