You can use the them and make a poor mans na high rev motor, the b16 bottom end loves high revs and the na head is easy and cheap to cam.

Stop saying the b16 head flows less than the others! its the cam that makes it flow more.

Its been flow benched and shown the b16 head has better flow and out flows the gsr head by 2 cfm with the stock cams in each head.

If that was the case I would use a GSR block with a ls built head with killer cams and retaners, port and polish, 3 angle valve job, ect.

The b16a head is a nice flowing head. for stock vs stock b16a and gsr heads perform the same NA. GSR head with stock cams + boost is better then a boosted b16a head with stock cams. GSR cams are better then b16a cams for boost.

stock vs stock gsr head is better, the combustion chamber is smaller therefore more compression and the cams are more aggressive than b16a.

if you put gsr cams in a b16a head you will not see any difference NA. I did this in my old b16a. because I was getting ready to turbo it.

2000 gsr cams bigger that 94-99 gsr, 94-99 gsr are the same as b16 cams.

buy a ls block theyre fairly cheap

Yea just get you a b18 block and use the b16 pistons to bump up comp some.

hmmm vtec to non vtec. Do it and lets see how it turns out lol

crxb18t 04-21-2009 12:37 PM

why would they put gsr cams in b16 heads if they weren't better? I think gsr cams has got to be more aggressive than b16a.

MoFasterthenUr's 04-21-2009 10:55 PM

its been done. I did it I used 96 gsr cams on my b16. didn't feel anything when I was N/A. the only reason I put them in mine, because I was going turbo. you'll feel a difference with the gsr cams and turbo. this has been covered many times on honda-tech. if you look up the specs on aftermarket turbo cams and compare them with specs of GSR cams you'll see that there close to being the same, but the GSR cams are just alot cheaper.
