Hey guys! I want some information about doing a swap into a 88 CRX Si. I can get a B16A2 swap complete with all parts and labor for $2950. But what I want to know is could I do the swap myself? Has anyone here done one and how difficult is it to do? I have access to the hobby shop on a base and they have lifts and every tool you could imagine, so I know that I could do it, but I'm not sure about what exactly is involved and what exactly I need to complete the swap. I can pick up the engine/tranny/ecu/axles for $1500 or I can get a A1 for $1250. Is it worth the $250 for 10 hp and like 1 lb of torque extra? What else will I need to complete the swap. Mounts/shiftlink/OBD Wiring adapter. Anything else? Also what kind of tuning is involved in doing this kind of swap?

Sorry, have never done a swap before but your paying for my then 10hp. Your paying for a NEWER engine. Just like a 1st gen crx is a lot cheaper then a 2nd gen in the same condition.

I too almost got a b16a2 from a 00 civic si for $1200 (complete) but passed it up because I didnt want to get in over my head. Ive had my crx for almost a year and still doing my research!

first youll need motor mounts from hasport or place racing, vtec wired, shift linkage cut about an inch or so i forgot, now before you drop the motor this is very important you need to make dent on the driver side frame under the shock tower because if you dont do this the alternator pulley will hit the rail. now if i left any thing out got hasport,honda hybrid, or honda tech they can all help with your swap. hope this helps later
