I have a good deal with itr pistons with rings, since i have to put the rings why not the pistons as whell...the question is... in a stock b16a2 the jdm itr pistons will increase my cr? Im thinking as whell using just 2 layer in my headgasket... what do you think? Yeah this one will stay NA

 

jdm itr pistons into a b16 will keep the compression ratio pretty close to stock, i believe it is 10.2:1 or so, the b16 rod will also have to be modified on the small end to fit the pistons

 

try CTR pistons ?

 

Yeah i guess ctr pistons increase cr but the deal is only with the itr ones ...actually theu came with rings also and i believe the itr ones come with a "extra" coating thas it doesnt in b16 stock ones(pr3)

Edit: To fit the itr ones you have to take 1mm of each side of the rod, not a major problem

 

i have never put itr/ctr pistons in a b16...but i put itr pistons in an ls motor with out modifying the rod or piston, theres a compression calculator ( not sure how accurate?) at c-speedracing.com that says
- b16a with ctr pistons is 10.8:1 c/r
-b16a with usdm itr pistons is 9.7:1 c/r wtf?
-b16a with jdm itr pistons is 10.19xxx:1 c/r

 

Ok i think im going for it since the price of it with rings is the same as oem rings only. Then ill take some material of te head to earn some more cr. Thanks.

 

B16a stock pistons have the 2nd highest dome on tops of b-series pistons, the only one that will yield more (thats stock) is the B16b CTR. ITR/GSR JDM or USDM pistons are all lower c/r.

 

if he does go with CTR pistons will he have to rebalence the engine??
