Default axle woes. help mah!

aw ---- ---- me in the goat ***.

So I decided after work to replace my axles. Passenger one only took about 2 hours to remove because the ------- LCA bolt rust-seized to the bushing, so a lot of prying, grinding and sawzalling took place. Needless to say the LCA is now fucked but I digress...

The driver side axle is T-totally---------stuck in the transmission. The first "pop" went fine and completely normal, but it wont ------- budge. I can put it back IN the transmission, no problem but it just wont come out. I've tried pulling it, wedging everything from a long pry bar to a 1/2" breaker bar in there and kicking it with both feet. I've basically tried everything short of having sexual intercourse with it.

I have heard and read that you can take a peek in the other side of the transmission and see what's going on but there is some cylindrical piece of metal in there blocking my view, making it impossible to stick any tools in there, assuming the clip is getting hung up or something.

Is there ANY way I can remove this axle? If all else fails, I guess I could rebuild it on the car but thats gay.

It's a d-series transmission. not sure what it is to be honest. Im guessing it's an EF DX but I'm not sure. It's cable.

can you even do that? It must be hung up on somthing, once that little clip pops out from inside the transmition it should slide out, how far can you get it out?? Thats the most fucked up thing i've heard, maybe i've just been lucky with axles or I just have a magic axle toutch, but I've never had a hard time taking one out.

It's a 90 hatch with I think the stock DX tranny. I will try the screwdriver thing again but my hopes for that working are pretty low.

I'm not the most experienced mechanic but I've done axle removals/installs at least 10 times. Never had anything like this happen.

Have someone grab the end and rotate it while you prybar it. Ran into this on a d15b recently... the rotation while prying was the only thing that did the trick, after like 10 minutes.
