axel help

jdm b16a1 in 91 DX hatch 90-93 teg axels.

there is a rubing/knocking noise when driving straight and you can feel it. and when turing right its just fine. but when i turn left there is a slight knocking and rubing noise. but when i look under the car on ramps there is no sign of the axle tuching my suspension anywhere. the CV joins look compressed both iner and outer cv joints are at an angel as well on both sides. anyone know what could be the problem.

Re: axel help

Take everything off, take the CV boot off and inspect the joints, and assemble it again make sure youre putting it in the right way also, and make sure your Axle nut is tightened properly.

Re: axel help

What he is saying is that there might be some internal damage to the axle. It most likely is just comon wear, this same thing happened to me, but I still have not replaced. ;D

^ yeah, just take out the Axles and inspect under the CV boot. and please dont tell me youre using just your air gun to tighten your axle shaft nut to our hub, I use a breaker bar and I stand on it holding on the the car and hopping up and down 2-3 times gently. this way I know its tight. then I use a flat head and a hammer to bend the crown on the nut in to the groove on the axle shaft.

Re: axel help

you mean that little shield on the axle? yes i did. should i put my older outer cv join on the new ones? think that might fix this problem?

Is your lower? What intermediate shaft do you have?

My friend had to use an 88-89 teg I think because the 90-93 was so long he couldn't even get his lower ball joint back in on the passenger side.

YOur shafts bight be to long, causing them to bind. When you turn that increases the knuckle angle giving it more room to move

Sorry I just talked to him, due to a difference in intermediate shafts he use 87 Integra Axle on the Divers Side
