tunnel is in....its about 80% welded up with driveshaft hung to make sure everything is lined up correctly.
the rest of the tunnel welding will be done tomorrow and then the interior goes back in, shift bucket goes in and gonna start figuring out the gas tank and other rear end ----.
here are some more progress pics

is a fuel cell out of the question for a fuel tank?
I like these kinda projects, they make me wish i had lots of room and money to work with.
Good ---- soo far, i cant wait to see rippers.

JD:
not entirely sure. the joint is a plunger style joint. i guess in theory we could have a 1 piece driveshaft that runs straight to the rear diff and not use any of that hanger. or run a steady bearing setup of some sort.
i guess we'll worry about it when it does fail.

Yeah if your rear tires were not exactly the same as the front you would begin to bind the drivetrain as you drove, putting a constant load on the transfer case. Id rather lose a coupler than a tranny, im sure that bitch is HARD to replace.
Man, for all the cutting and welding and fab..id have just put it in a hatch that matches up for the most part. But I have to give it to you for doing it.
