Anybody put a d15b7 in a crx with obd0 dizzy?

The reason I ask is if you did how did you get it to work. I know the dizzy will mount up but I think that it is upside down and when I do mount it it hits some sensors.

all obdo/1 non vtec dist. have the same bolt pattern

Yes I know that they have the same bolt pattern but the dizzys mount 180 degrees from each other. See where the coil is at on both of them?

And the b7/b2/a6 all are the same casting.

So whatever you're doing, if it's not fitting, it's not right.

I don't think that you understand. Both dizzys fit. I know they bolt up. I have the obd0 on there right now. I have spark. I have fuel pressure but I am not sure if the injectors are firing off now. I can't smell fuel any more. why wouldn't I be smelling any fuel?

Need more details.

Re: Anybody put a d15b7 in a crx with obd0 dizzy?

I looked at all of those here is the low down.
I picked up a d15b7
had it installed by a shop. they did a very good job but they wouldn't put in my wiring harness because they said it was "hack up" but it just because it was an hf harness and I had to switch some things over. But it ran before with the old engine.

So I checked the coil, igniter, fuel pressure, spark and most everything I could think off. Its not throwing codes
What else do you need to know? Do you know how to check and see if the ecu is sending injector pulses?

grounds

also pull an injector out of the fuel rail and manifold.

turn the key to 2nd aux on the ignition

you have spray you have fuel where it needs to be

spark
fuel
ground correct

car will start

Do what chris says or try cranking it over and then pulling a plug, if it's wet then you've got fuel. Make sure your dizzy isn't 180 degrees off, you still get spark but it won't start.

like chris says, fuel, spark, grounds and it'll run.

Thanks I will try that and see what comes up.

Re: Anybody put a d15b7 in a crx with obd0 dizzy?

Ok wait. How would I put the injector out and see if it sprays fuel with it out. It wouldn't be in the fuel rail or the other three wouldn't be either. Also for the grounds there is one on the harness that connects to the thermostat housing right. then from the valve cover to the body and the ground that come off of the battery. Is that it? Or should I make some more.

Could also just get a noid light and watch it as you crank the car over. It'll light up when the injector's pulse.

Ok off to go get one.

Re: Anybody put a d15b7 in a crx with obd0 dizzy?

battery ground
starter ground
grounds are also found in the interior aka cabin

crxrx7 03-24-2007 07:32 PM

Re: Anybody put a d15b7 in a crx with obd0 dizzy?

I didn't change any of those grounds on the interior. I think that I might try to bolt down my ecu also. that could be the problem to. I thought that it grounded through the case and a pin out.

Re: Anybody put a d15b7 in a crx with obd0 dizzy?

ok something isn't adding up here, you say you don't smell fuel anymore, did you alter any of the dizzy wiring? did your re pin it at all? have you actually checked for engine codes or are you assuming you don't have any cause the engine light isn't on, what ecu are you using?

Re: Anybody put a d15b7 in a crx with obd0 dizzy?

Ok maybe this will help some. My car was turboed. It was chipped with turboedit and now I am changing it back to stock since everything was stolen. What I have in it now. It ran before on the chipped ecu. I have bought 2 virgin ecus and plan on trying them

D15B7
OBDO dizzy
PM6 ecu
HF engine harness that was converted to si to work with my si chassis harness.
OBDO injectors

The question nobody has really answered is my dizzy that I have on there bolts up. All the holes line up and everything. but the coil is 180 degrees from the obd1 dizzy. I hope you can see that in the pictures. This is what is making me think what is keeping it from running. tomorrow I will try to crank it and see if fuel comes out. I will crank it for a while so I know that fuel would be in the.

Re: Anybody put a d15b7 in a crx with obd0 dizzy?

that blue capped obd1 dizzy is not on right, your obd0 dizzy is fine, that is the correct aligment, i already posted this info. as far as your car not running on a stock pm6 ecu, it still sounds like you have some wiring problems, make sure you have properly did up your harness, there is a million posts on here about mpfi problems, i'd go over it with a fine tooth comb. remember this: F.A.S.T (Fuel Air Spark Timing) always check those 4 things before you check anything else.

Alright. I will remove the harness and try over. Its probably something really stupid.

fyi. The oil drain on the distributors should be on the bottom.
also, if it is 180° off, flip the cam key on the dizzy.

crxrx7 03-27-2007 07:43 PM

Re: Anybody put a d15b7 in a crx with obd0 dizzy?

How do you flip the cam key. remove the pin?

Re: Anybody put a d15b7 in a crx with obd0 dizzy?

if your checking to make sure your dizzy is timed properly, line up the rotor to the approx. the number one position and take a look on the back of the dizzy, you should see some marks on the dizzy chassis line up with some marks on the dizzy drive, if they do line up, your good, but if they don't, remove the snap ring, slide the pin out and rotate the drive 180, and re install.

Re: Anybody put a d15b7 in a crx with obd0 dizzy?

AH HA! Thank you so much for that answer. I will go try that today. Just an update. I went and tried to start it yesterday and it seemed like it wanted to start but just blipped a few times each time I turned it over. I am not sure what that means but I will check the dizzy and see if that is it. I checked all my wiring and it was good. I don't think that it matters where the power wires for the injectors go do they. They come from one power wire anyways.

firing order

Re: Anybody put a d15b7 in a crx with obd0 dizzy?

Ok so I checked the lines on the dizzy and they are the same as the the blue one so that can't be it. I can smell fuel coming out of my exhaust so I know I have fuel. I have fuel pressure. I checked the firing order again. Its good. I added two more grounds to the engine. I checked the spark again. I have no idea what the problem is. I have 3 ecus that I have tried and I know thats not the problem. What else do you think it could be? I think I am going to blow my car up.
