Default Any sense ....

Ran into a lean condition in #4 cylinder(bad injector) and melted a small hole in piston (pics later).
Rings in tact no damage to cylinder wall. I am going to replace all 4 pistons and rings.

My question is :

Is there any benefit to putting in forged pistons instead of stock replacement pistons if
I don't replace the rods with forged rods ?

Not really because the rods usually fail first.

Thanks I didn't think so, but wanted to make sure.

upgrade both now, why spend the money on stock, when not stock is better? if nothing else, you can change the compression ratio to where to want.

If you want new stock stuff, I 've got a brand new set of y7 rods/pistons/rings ready for you. Make an offer.

i think in most cases forged pistons wont go onto stock rods because of the type of wrist pin aftermarket pistons use.
