Re:Acura Vigor?

those vigors look pretty sweet, but they didnt sell that well cause they were in kind of a weird spot, not really a good niche. acura had the legend and the four door integra, and it kinda fit between.......but not. the older maximas rock, i had a 5 speed i sold to my little brother, its a sweet car, really great ride, especially with lowering springs, good looking, and lots of torque, the 5 speeds launch better than almost any FWD car i have ever ridden in. with intake and exhaust, he's in the 14's

Re:Acura Vigor?

ok so I found some pics of this engine, and it is NOT mounted transverse style like most every other Honda/Acura car, it is oriented the other way! (like the S2000 or any other RWD car) According to autotrader.com, my quick source, these Vigors are FWD cars. How can a front wheel drive car have the engine mounted this way? do they use a differential up in the front of the car? If that's the case, why not just make it RWD and give us an Acura to drift in? ;)

here's a link to some guy's car on Ebay so you can check out his pics.

you can have an engine mounted that way and still have it front wheel drive.......i dont know why it is done ,but it is......just some different tranny design i guess. whatever. volkswagen fox's had this setup.......

Re:Acura Vigor?

yeah, but is it feasable to convert to rwd with that engine?

Re:Acura Vigor?

i guess so......lots of fabrication and you'd have to find a tranny that worked, but in all reality, anything if feasable with the right amount of money. custom bellhouseing for the tranny, custom driveshaft, and some sort of rear end that fits, along with a lot of other crazy stuff=a rear wheel drive vigor. i dare ya to do it! if i had the money my civic would be all wheel drive, but i'm just a lowly college bastard.
