A6 head on Z6 block, need opinions.
I've got a Z6 block with the typical vitara/tt rod setup. I've got a sketchy z6 head to go on... but the working condition is unknown. I can get an A6 head for cheap and wanted to know if the ARP studs i have for the Z6 will work, if I need to add that oil plug into the block to restrict the oil passage, or what else I'll need to do. Another reason why I'd like to use the A6 is because the camshaft selection is very nice (delta regrind) and not having to mess with vtec. I don't need the single cam vtec, I have a big fat turbo.

A6/Z6 studs are the same. I used Z6 studs when I did the exact same thing.
Also, your compression is going to be retard low. It's already 8.5:1 with the A6 head, Vitara's aren't going to help.

According to the compression calculator it will be 8.8:1 with the Z6 head and 8.3:1 with the A6 head. I guess I'll just try to find a head in better condition or just run the one I have and hope for the best. Thanks

I've got an IHI/Borg Warner GM9 Turbo, fairly similar to the rest of the GMX series. I've got it going through an HF manifold with an adapter plate fixed with an external wastegate. It's a fun car (not daily driver) so that shouldn't be a problem.
