Ae you sure they were Y8 studs? I have always known to use the head studs for the head. The blocks are the same so I don't see how the Y8 studs wouldn't work.

im like 100% that they are z6 studs......i ordered y8's thinking the same thing, but they were all too short.....apparently y8 headstuds are 80mm.....and z6's are 100mm.......so im not really sure
i did this setup once. i'm pretty sure that i ordered the headstuds for the z6. one of them stood up too tall to allow the nut to torque down properly. i took the factory head bolts and cut them to get the washers off. then i covered them with arp lube and stacked 3 washers on that stud. everything torqued down just fine and we never had any problems with the motor.

well if i had a z6 head then my obd0 dizzy wouldnt bolt to it, it wouldnt say 98 on the casting and some other obviouse things.....there are 2 studs that i used washers to make up for some length differences....
