Default 94 Accord Engine

I am asking this for a friend, he has a 94 accord stock coupe with 154,000. Would it be a good idea to replace the piston and rings just to freshen up the motor, or is that something that you dont do? If not what would be a good idea to freshen it up? He does not plan to rebuild the block, just put the same size piston and rings in.
Thanks

its much better to have it honed before installing new rings, if you dont they dont seal very well
