93 teg ls to b18c1 questions
So basically what does it take to upgrade a b series non vtec to a b series vtec? My bro is curious as the engine is bolted in and all just the wiring is needed to complete. Im a vtec douche and the searcg button here sucks so just tell me what i need to know and sell me some parts for it

Re: 93 teg ls to b18c1 questions
Your going to have to get a GSR ECU. Are you going to be running the OBDI or OBDII GSR ECU? This will tell me if you will need a conversion harness or not.
Second you will have run to wires from your ECU to the engine. These will be the wires for your VTEC solenoid
other than a possible exhaust modification it is a direct bolt in.

Re: 93 teg ls to b18c1 questions
well its for my brother who thought it was goint o be a straight install over the weekend. The motor is installed and everything is good but the wiring issues. Hes not sure what year the b18c1 came from so he wasnt sure if he needed to go obd-II or not Im sure hed prefer not though and keeping it obd1. Im sure hed like to keep it as easy as possible. He does have the stock GSR ecu and hes fighting thw wiring. If you could explain it that would be great.
Questions are if vtec wires arent run, will the car start and run just no vtec or will it not work as theres a switch in the loop someplace. the other with the vtec wires, is it one wire per switch/sensor or just the one from the ecu to the sensor? thanks mike
