Default 92 DX auto to ls/vtec 5 speed wiring Q's

Guys, I'm a lost puppy when it comes to wiring. I have a 92 dx auto that I'm gonna be running a B18b1 with gsr head and swapping to 5 speed. What kind of mess do I have to look forward to to get this thing going?
I've been doing some reading and hearing about a knock sensor I might have to add? Also the distributor needing to be changed?
I've never been into wiring, but for this swap I want to make sure I do it right. How hard is this gonna be?

steve, you have the p06 ecu?
you can easily convert that to 5 speed. what is the board number. you might be able to convert it to vtec.
run uberdata and forget about the knock sensor.

I haven't looked at the ecu, and my wife took the car to work (it's not here). I guess the auto thing is seperate from the actual wiring I will need to do for the swap, I was just trying to figure out how much is on my hands with this one.
Like, I could run a chipped p06 or whatever, but what about the actual differences in the harness. What I will have to use/change.

Especially since its an auto now. I'm sure theres some sensors for that auto tranny on the ecu harness that I won't need for the new motor/tranny, I'm just trying to get the facts straight.

once you convert the ecu to manual, it won't look for those sensors.

is the ls motor obd1? if not, run the dx harness. either way you will run the vtec wires to the ecu.

rule #1 of doing swaps, always use the original harness
as far as you ecu, it should be a p06 and can be converted to vtec, but i'm not sure about converting it to manual.
my suggestion would be get a manual ecu (p28, p05, or p06), none of these ecu's will look for a ks, the only one that will is a p72 and p30 (which are expensive as ---- anyways). you have to use an obd1 b series dizzy and run a couple wires to the ecu for vtec, that's it.

actually, the wires might be already there. i thought 92s were all pre-wired for vtec.?

just repin the "auto tranny sensor wires" for use w/ the vtec wiring if u need to.

on the new motor? if it's obdII he should use what he has now.

converting it to manual is easier than converting it to vtec. you dont need to get a manual ecu.

no, not on new the motor, the original harness out of his car. all obd2 and obd1 sensors are the same except for the cps, injectors, and dizzy. you always use the harness that is in the car.
