Default 90-93 integra spindles on my 89 civic...how bad will the geometry be?

My driver's side hub bearing is fubar'd (it actually fell apart in my hands when I took the spindle off the car) and I can't seem to find another complete spindle for it locally. I did run across a kid selling complete and good condition integra spindles, so I'm going to go pick them up tomorrow afternoon. I'm just wondering how bad my suspension geometry is going to be off once I swap them over. I've heard everything from camber/caster being completely fucked to it just needs a toe adjustment. What's the real deal here?

Most of the people with problems probably tried to use 90-93 integra spindels on 92 and up.Which everyone knows 94-2000 integra only fits.
I have had 91 integra spindels on my 89 crx and they fit fine.Except the brake bracket rubbing my rim.Upgrade to 15 inch rims.

When you use 90-93 spindels on a 92 up civic, your wheel's camber out. It's like the cv axel's are not long enough.

Anytime you mess with the spindels, they always need to be adjusted back to spec.

No doubt, a new front end alignment is first order for monday morning. I don't have to worry about wheel clearance, shitty 17's have tons of room in there. :P One of my friend's told me to grab the integra uca's and use them, but I don't see why I would...it'll just add more positive camber due to the longer length.

Well I just got the driver's side on (didn't get home and started on it until almost 6pm :P )
and so far it looks pretty good. I can tell the toe is going to be quite a bit out just by looking at it, but I'm really interested to see how the roll characteristics will be along with camber. Doesn't look like it'll go for alignment on monday, perhaps tuesday morning or so.

camber CURVE is the big issue.........after you've corrected the camber issue.

Lower too much and the upper arm will hit the fender.

Please elaborate...these are some things I want to know before it hits the alignment machine. At a quick glance camber in a straight line looks ok, not much different than the -1 degree I had before. The curve is what I'm most interested in. I can tell something's going to be different just from the fact the spindle is about 1/2" longer than the stock piece.

Your gonna gain more camber (compared to before) as the suspension compresses.

Sweet! I'm going to set the coilovers so the front wheels have maybe just a hair of negative camber (less than 1/2 degree if possible). Hopefully the extra camber should help "dig" me through the corners then as the body rolls over. It's been a while since I've actually played around with suspension geometry and such, gonna have to dig my old books out and read up on suspension tech again. I talked to the guy doing the alignment today, he said he'd throw the scales on the alignment machine so we can balance the corner weight first before the alignment. I'm going to be there through the entire process, so I'll try and post the readouts after it's done compared to my old stock setup.

you HAVE to be there for cornerweighting, sitting motionless for a hour will suck, bring music.

Lol actually it wasn't too bad. The rear end toe is a little fucked, I think something's bent back there because we maxed out the passenger side trying to get it close. Here's what I have for the rear's now...

Left Right
Camber -1.04 -1.06
Toe -0.01 -0.06

And for the fronts...

Camber -0.62 -0.69
Caster 2.55 2.57
Toe 0.02 0.01
That was the closest we could get it for now, strange part was when I first pulled it in even with the DA spindles I had -1.70 and -1.94 camber in the front. I actually had to raise the front's a hair and then corner balance it. I think I'm going to invest in a nice set of adjustable UCA's, not just some cheapo camber kit. The ride feels a little strange at first, but I probably just need to get used to it. Time to go find some twisties!
