8v to 16 valve
 

i put a 16 valve b7 head on a 8v b8 block and it runs funny, what ECU should i use for this set up?? i have a PO5 and a PO6, next question is, the motor wont rev past 3,500 RPM, it just reaches 3,500 then drops down to about 2,000... and i do have a CEL. dunno the code that its throwing but will try to find out, and is there any home diagnostics i can do???

Sounds like limp mode to me.

Yes there's this great home diagnostic you can do, it's called checking your CEL ;)

did you use the b7 intake mani & tb?
use the P06 ecu if you have it.
count the cel and post it.

for the CELs, i get 3 flashes and then 3 more flashes, i belive that means code 33? not too sure but if any one knows what that code means or what the flashes mean then let me know ASAP!! thanks

that`s code 3 then

just look it up it is map sensor

means the vacum line on the map sensor is unhooked, hence why it wont rev up and idles funny.....
