H22 is a different story. H22's like the 3", all day.

So you just wait for some random dude to post something supportive, after countless people have argued the contrary? First of all, I'd go with the masses. Secondly, I haven't seen a single dyno sheet posted, so no one here has said anything you should believe.

every1 was talking about B-series engines. which 2.5" is good.
But he asked about H22's. an h22 is a different story, you can find info on it on a prelude forum if you don't believe me. I say 3" is good for his H22 set up. he said he's got a built h22 with a 100 shot. |

its not only an h22, Im also gonna have a 100 shot of spray so the 3" exhaust is def gonna help out. so just say over 300hp. Im pretty sure the 3" is gonna be better for my setup than the 2.5. When I get done with my setup and running right I will hit up the dyno.

How do you know 3" is going to help, without dyno-ing it before? An after dyno tells you nothing if it isn't compared to a before. You're just going into this completely blind, and making assumption after assumption.

I had a 4-1 header, 2.5" and glass pack on my NA LS, and I could feel the loss in power at low end. it started to pull hard at 4500 rpm.it would have been much better if I had the ls with cams and other bolt on's with the 2.5". but in GSR's 2.5" is good. Even with small turbo builds 2.5" is good enough. when you start moving up more then 250hp, that's when I'd put 3". You got to remember back pressure. if you don't got enough back pressure you'll loss hp. Everyone here keeps speaking in general terms, too. Naturally aspirated exhaust size depends on your setup and where you want to make power. |
ok so you dont think 3" exhaust will be any good with 300+hp? lmao. do your research, there are dyno sheets out there if you just look. and it shows power gain even after 2.25 exhaust to 3" through the intire powerband. so thats proven fact that the h22 likes the 3" exhaust with minor bolt ons and with nice cams it will really set it off.
