Re: 3" exhaust on an NA car?
i have a 3" on my H and it doesnt sound bad at all. Its only really loud inside the cabin because mine isnt a full catback and dumps before the bend at the gas tank so i get a lot of incabin resonation from the ground. RMF header / 2.5" magnaflow cat / 3" piping with 17" vibrant resonator. No rasp whatsoever.

Re: 3" exhaust on an NA car?
itll be loud. when i went back stock. had the 2.5 inch turbo back, figured why the ---- not. ---- was annoying and loud. stock pipe got slapped on the day after.

Re: 3" exhaust on an NA car?
Pipe diameter makes more of a difference than resonators and mufflers to killing engine noise.
And, I'm going to disagree with chris. I like 3" exhaust on any all motor build targeting 200+, his 220+ figure is too damn high and you'll lose power if you brush past 200. |
Re: 3" exhaust on an NA car?
hmmm well this is just gonna be a 82mm gsr w/ itr cams and 11.6:1 comp...nothing too crazy, prolly like 180-190whp
i figure with 2.5 to basically the gas tank where it bends (ek civic) shouldn't be THAT bad...might have to ditch my straight thru hooker for an OEM type muffler. hmm maybe an s2k muffler? gotta find out what the inlet piping is on that, i know its "twin loop" which is cool |

3in na sucks
|
2.5" > 3"

For my jetta this summer I'm put a 2" exhaust with a cherry bomb glass pack and only the 2nd. stock muffler.
|
nice i like it

Yes, you can run a 3 in exhaust on an n/a car, but you won't make the best power with it.
