Default 240sx auto to manual converstion

Well i just got a free 91 240sx, but it needs a motor rebuild due to a rod nock, and it is manual,
Now on these rear wheel drive 240's can you just replace the tranny, or do you have to replace the tranny and driveline and rear diff and rear axles or what, I plan to throw so wesco pistons and forged rods in this bitch when i rebuild it so it will take a turbo, Got the 2.4 liter in it. What do you guys think. Thanks

first off.. what the ---- are you talking about. second you don't need new pistons for a turbo below 250 hp.

if you want to put a manual tranny on there just swap out the tranny, clutch, etc. run the master clutch cylinder, use ss brake hose as your line to the slave cylinder..... go for a drive... as far as i kno you can use the auto ecu....

yep,

youll need a flywheel, clutch, transmission, crossmember, driveshaft, release bearing, master and slave cylinders, lines from master to slave cyl. , clutch and brake pedals, maybe a few other things. from what i understand the swap isnt that bad. not as hard as some fwd setups.

^^^these guys make the correct line for the slave cylinder to master for the swap and its only $40.^^^

maybe im not getting this right....but why in hell would you change it from manual to auto.....i mean...im looking for a 200sx for a while, can't find any good one since all the good ones are auto .

btw, Don't know anything about the 2.4L engines, but i know that here in the netherlands many 200sx (s13) CA18DET (1.8L turbo) engines have about 300 whp with stock internals. They do often need a rebuild thats true, but thats just because the CA18DET engines are known for bad big-ends that need to be replaced when they have done about 100k-130k miles.

i personally would dump the 2.4L and get myself a SR20DET from an S15, 250 hp stock and capable of much much much more. 400-500 whp is easy to reach with those engines.
