1st gear at 55mph. :(
Ok so i am tired as ----, and had to go to the store to get computer paper for my law project bla bla bla.
I put my car in to first at 55mph, and my rpms hit like 9300 or so i was trying to get 3rd as im sure you all can guess.
I know let the flaming begin, get a rope, kill your self, fist a chicken, ---- a duck, dumb ******, end your self!!!!!
What should i look for as far as issues.
It is a 98 Ls forged internals, and some light valve work, stock cams 3 angle valve job Crower dual stage valve springs, Crower titanium retainers New Honda valve keepers
There has been a slight tick/tap from the engine since i bought it, but never though much about it. dosnt seem any louder now, but i just want to have an idea of things i should look for if i did do something bad. what sings will should there be. Im just now getting in to the working on the internals of engines, so should i redo my valve lash, or should that not have been effected
I was bout ready to shoot my self when the car lurched forward

Re: 1st gear at 55mph. :(
Misshifting nogs like that need to stick to autos.
Run a compression and a leakdown test on it. If it all checks out, you have nothing to worry about. That tick or tap you're hearing is either wrist pin movement (if the pistons and rods have floating pins) or it's possibly slap which is also nothing to worry about. If the leaky tests come back fine you're golden.

Plus if you have all that ---- done, it's hopefully fine. Just don't do it again.

So compression check, and im just praying it checks out
I figured some people think the ls vtack which is typically stock ls bottom end should have the rev limiter set to 9200 so i figured the one time trip to really ------- high isnt that bad, but never done that before and it scared me a bit

as long as you didnt throw a rod or drop a valve or jump time you're probably fine....seems like an instant thing to go wrong.
I did it when i drove a bone stock vx in high school...thank god i probably only sent the z1 to 7500 or so at like 50 mph with that transmission
